Runners are the best type of athlete (duh) -- so if you have the opportunity to date one don't let them pass you by. Here are some FYI's that all runners want their significant other to know.
Avoid planning dates involving physical activities during their taper week
Plan meals in accordance to their carbo-loading schedule.
It may seem like they are overjoyed to see you after a run, but do not be fooled -- that happiness is due to post-workout runners high, not you.
Don’t worry, you'll get used to the fact that they ALWAYS smell like sweat soon enough
There is a blurred line between 'dressing-up' and 'casual' -- both include running shoes.
Buying them socks as a gift is acceptable.
Don't question the number of running shoes they have. Just don't.
You better make kick-butt motivational signs to hold up at their races.
All of their stories revolve around their running buddies.
By the time you're awake they've already done a 10mile run. If you know what’s right for you, make sure breakfast is ready.
Don't laugh when they say 'fartlek'. It’s a real thing.
If you really want them to love you, sign up for a race with them.
